4 realities in three verses

Pro 30:21  There are three things that make the earth tremble—no, four it cannot endure:

Pro 30:22  a slave who becomes a king, an overbearing fool who prospers,

Pro 30:23  a bitter woman who finally gets a husband, a servant girl who supplants her mistress.

These are things that make the earth shake, or another way to look at it, things that cause uproar in society.

A slave who becomes King – these are two different classes of people, a slave, servant, or worker doesn’t usually understand how to govern a nation, and lacks proper foresight.  While in movies and story books, that seems fine and dandy, but realistically, society would likely not prosper if someone who shined shoes all their life was put in charge of entire nation.  One needs education and experience is not found in menial labor, and then suddenly is thrust into a position of power.

The second; An overbearing fool who lucks into money – this also can make the earth shutter, so to speak, or cause tensions.  As the saying goes; the fool and his money soon parted, actually, people who hit the lottery and come into new money, are often more unhappy afterwards that before.  Many NFL players find themselves lost when they suddenly get that signing bonus, new money = new friends and ultimately, more trouble.

the third truth – A bitter woman who finally gets a husband – the angry woman who finally finds a husband has no issues with letting others know of her new status in life, this person is usually insufferable and tends to mock others who are still at the same station in life that they once were.

and our fourth and final truth from today’s Proverb — A house girl who becomes the house wife — this never ends well – much like the fool who comes into new money, the house girl, who is usually much younger than the husband, takes her immature ways into the new aduleterous relationship, wastes the family’s resources and still wants to enjoy her partying ways.

These 4 truths, written thousands of years ago, are still entirely applicable right here in 2021.  God’s Word stands forever.
