When we observe God’s creation and are wowed by it, it is typically a sunset, maybe volcanic formation, or a million dollar ocean view. Today’s Proverbs show us that God’s magnificent design can be found in even the smallest of His creations:
Pro 30:24 There are four things on earth that are small but unusually wise:
Pro 30:25 Ants—they aren’t strong, but they store up food all summer.
Pro 30:26 Rock badgers —they aren’t powerful, but they make their homes among the rocks.
Pro 30:27 Locusts—they have no king, but they march in formation.
Pro 30:28 Lizards—they are easy to catch, but they are found even in kings’ palaces.
Nothing exactly glamorous about any of those creatures….when we were all little kids and play pretend, we’d usually want to be a tiger or an eagle, but never an ant or a lizard. Meanwhile, the ant is often more diligent than most humans, because it stores up reserves of food, meanwhile, most of us, don’t manage our money properly and live pay check to pay check. Also the Lizard can access the most clandestine places, like a King’s palace, that most humans could never enter.
Even in this digital age of artificial intelligence, where man is creating robots to do all these various tasks, none of this man-made design can come close to God’s creation even in it’s most seemingly lowly form like ants and geckos!
