Cause and Effect (causality) — what leads to fighting

The Word today sounds out three different events and the results they yield.

Pro 30:33  As the beating of cream yields butter and striking the nose causes bleeding, so stirring up anger causes quarrels.

Beating cream makes better, hitting or getting hitting in the nose creates bleeding and getting a rise out of someone produces fighting.

Quite the crescendo there from making butter to nose bleeds to fighting!

At any rate, our focus should be fighting and what we can do to avoid conflict?  Anger leads to murder, as seen biblically with Cain and Abel.  Or Joseph and his brother’s attempted murder.  Jealousy can certainly lead to anger and so can gossip.  Gossip is incredibly prevalent in today’s digital age where outrage culture reigns supreme!  As salacious as gossip can seem, produces exactly what God’s Word tells us; “stirring up anger causes quarrels”

As we go about the day we should be armed with this biblical truth, stirring up anger produces fights, and moreover, make it a priority to avoid stirring up anger, whether it is allowing the evil one to get in our heads and make us jealous, or to sit around on Facebook and gossip about others.
