Solomon concludes his musings on the different times in life with love, hate, war and peace.
Ecc 3:8 A time to love and a time to hate; A time for war and a time for peace.
As Christians, we shouldn’t subscribe to this behavior and engage in hatred and war, Solomon was likely making these observations about the world at large, and it is indeed true, throughout this fallen world, there is an abundance of hatred. The United State of America seems to becoming the divide states of America with all of the hatred and racism that has been festering.
As Christians though, we can live through the Gospel truth, instead of trying to exact revenge on our enemies through hatred and war, we should remember what Christ tells us: Love your enemies and pray for those persecute you. Christ also says we should not hold grudges, (think forgive your enemy 70 times 7 times) and Jesus also instructs us to love our neighbors as much as we love ourselves.
Imagine how few wars and protests we would have if everyone just obeyed Christ’s teachings.
