Our Ecclesiastes today points out what a major emphasis humanity tends to put o wealth and materialism.  

Ecc 9:16  So I said, “Wisdom is better than strength.” But the wisdom of the poor man is despised and his words are not heeded.

It’s never not amazing how these words were written in about 1000 BC and over 3000 years later, they are still completely true.  

Here in 2021 we still see that the wealthiest people are given god-like status because of their high place in society, yet the poorest people aren’t given a second glance, hence Solomon’s musings that the no one has time for a poor man and his wise words aren’t listened to.  

This is a great example of why we shouldn’t always be eager to pay attention to what an Elon Musk or a Bill Gates has to say, nor should we constantly try and emulate them.  

Christ was a much more humble Servant and His work saves sinners to this day!
