Today’s Word reminds us that understanding God’s ways is a futile endeavor, because God is God, He stands over all of us.  Humans, and specifically atheists tend to harden their hearts towards God because they don’t understand why things happen the way they do, so with that said, here’s today’s text: 

Ecc 11:5  Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things. 

Despite all the meteorologists in the world today, none of them can predict with total certainty what the weather is going to be like.  The same thing can be said for scientists, we are trying to replicate humans through robots and artificial intelligence, but these scientists haven’t any clue on miracle of reproduction. 

Those are the mysteries of the universe, man can’t figure it out, just like the Gospel.  In no realm of human rationalism would anyone send their own offspring to die so that the people who insult them could be pardoned or forgiven?  

These are realities that we must surrender to, and that means fighting against our egos, and holding a high view of God and a low view of ourselves.  God has always been there, and He always will be, but we are here for a little while and then gone, but His gift to us through His Son, paves the way to eternal paradise.
