Happiness Comes From Obedience

Our Psalms today opens with an important truism as it relates to the righteous versus the unrighteous:

Psa 1:1  Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers.

Unfortunately, we are conditioned by modern media to indulge in lustful pursuits, there is this false sense of enlightenment that is dangled in front of us if we are rich and important…which is why we are taught at a young age to chase money, fame and prominence.

Today’s Word reveals to us that the person who doesn’t gratify themselves, be it listening to bad advance, hanging out with people who are and influences or making fun of others…that person is blessed with joy or Christian contentment.

Now before we close here, we should also point out that we shouldn’t just tune these people out completely or we would be like those self righteous Pharisees.  But to be Christ like, is to be a Gospel Witness to those who are struggling like the wicked and the sinners and guide them…Jesus was a friend to sinners, He came to save sinners, but also, He was without sin.
