Trust The Real King…not the fake ones

In our Psalms today we here the Words of God, but before we get into the scripture we should give it some context, a quick review of the last couple of days points out that the nations of the world are in a state of rebellion, they reject God’s authority, and install their own gods, be it the idols of ancient Israel or the worship of wealth, power and prestige that we see today, here is God’s response:

Psa 2:6  “But as for Me, I have installed My King Upon Zion, My holy mountain.”

Psa 2:7  “I will surely tell of the decree of the LORD: He said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.

Incidentally, this is Old Testament, as in it was written about 1,000 years before Christ was born, or 1000 B-C and here we have a God spelling out that He will send His Son in to time and become the King of Kings.  If we fast forward to Revelation and the Second Coming of Christ, The Word tells us that Christ will indeed come to rule just as was foretold back in 1000 BC.  His first coming He came save sinners and begin the church, In His second coming, He will come back to smash the prince of the air or the anti-Christ and all the lawless nations that are following the anti-Christ.  We are pretty deep in a state of lawlessness, now without going to far off track, if you look at the laws of marriage and other standards that God instructs us to live by, it has become the norm to openly God’s law, and is actually celebrated.

The Word tells us that the gate to heaven is narrow but the road to hell is wide, suggesting that not many people find the righteous path, and if you obey the ways of the world and the cultural norms and trends and fads around today, that is the wife path to destruction, but confessing Christ and following Him and setting aside our sinful ways, that is the narrow gate, or the road to heaven.  No matter how many kings or fashionable leaders or celebrities that awe everyone with their fame and fortune come, they will also go, but God and His Son, as outlined today will go on forever.  Trust the real King, not the fakes ones.
