Psalms – The Father Has Pledged Everything To The Son

Today’s Word is a fascinating and humbling exchange from God, to His Son Jesus, basically guaranteeing Jesus authority over every nation on earth when He returns for His Second Advent, so this is God talking to Jesus here:

Psa 2:8  ‘Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance, And the very ends of the earth as Your possession.

Psa 2:9  ‘You shall break them with a rod of iron, You shall shatter them like earthenware.'”

Yikes!  Some bad times for sure are awaiting those who break God’s law.

To give this some perspective – Between this Psalm that was written 1000 years before Christ came the first time, and about 1070 years before The Book Of Revelation came about, we understand that just before Christ returns for the second time the nations will be in a massive state of rebellion, openly violating God’s laws…kinda like we are doing right now.  When He comes again, the Bible tells us, it’s not going to be as a humble servant like He was the first go round, His Second Coming is going to be when the world is held accountable.

Today’s Word should be a wake up call to all of us to get right with The Lord, the world and the evil one are trying to send us into one direction, which is sin, but God who has the final say, is telling us to wake up, confess Christ, put aside our selfish ways and repent.

Those who call on the name of Christ will be spared, when He returns for His Second coming, not so much the case for those who choose to live in a state of rebellion though.

He could return tonight, tomorrow, or in a hundred years, we don’t know when it is happening, but if we go by what the Bible tells us, which, if we look at history, has been right on all other prophetic accounts, it is definitely going to happen, so as the TV commercials like to say, “Act now, before it’s too late!”
