Our Psalms today point out that God will judge even what seems like the most loftiest governments and civilizations, He already has in the past and He will in Christ’s Second Advent:
Psa 9:5 You have rebuked the nations, You have destroyed the wicked; You have blotted out their name forever and ever.
Psa 9:6 The enemy has come to an end in perpetual ruins, And You have uprooted the cities; The very memory of them has perished.
Psa 9:7 But the LORD abides forever; He has established His throne for judgment,
If we look across history, ancient civilizations that were once powerful and seemingly unstoppable are no more. The Egyptians, Romans which ruled the world are an afterthought, just like the superpowers today will one day be forgotten. While most of us can’t name more than 2 Roman Emperors or any of the Bablyonian leaders, we all no the name of God. He always was, and always will be.
