Tuesday Devotional for 12/21 – Psalms 10:6

Continuing on with the Psalmists observations on the wicked and we gain some relevant truths here as it relates to the no care ways of wicked people:

Psa 10:6  They think, “Nothing bad will ever happen to us! We will be free of trouble forever!”

Since God is the furthest thing from the mind of a wicked person, they act with reckless abandon, like they have nothing to lose.

While, it may sound like we are talking about a certain group of people, chances are, you and I have both acted like this before as well.  Especially easy to do this when we get drunk,  angry or both –  that’s when the devil seems to operates the most effectively.

So while others (and our own selves included) behave wickedly – we are all in for a rude awakening when our lives comes to an end, because  everyone one of us will be held accountable for the bad things that we did …the good news is the only saving hope we have to be pardoned of these wicked things that we did in this life by following Jesus.  That goes beyond just saying, He is Lord, but actually living like He is Lord, making Him the center of our affections, humbling ourselves, forgiving others, following Him, and putting aside our sins and living a life that honors Him.
