Monday Devotional for 12/27

Today the Psalmist presses on about the different things wicked people do, today is how they sneak up on others

Psa 10:8  They lurk in ambush in the villages, waiting to murder innocent people. They are always searching for helpless victims.

Psa 10:9  Like lions crouched in hiding, they wait to pounce on the helpless. Like hunters they capture the helpless and drag them away in nets.

Have you ever heard that phrase “cheap shot”or being blind sided?  That is what the wicked do, they wait for an unlevel playing field and then make their move, today’s verse says they ambush them or sneak up on their unknowing victims.

This kind of behavior is couched in dishonesty, because wicked people don’t care about being fair or honest, they just want to get ahead, with no care about their victims.

Basically being shady or sneaky.  We may not be wicked to the point where we are going to sneak up and rob someone, but we like say or even think wicked hings about other people…just when they aren’t around.  The same type of behavior rooted in the same type of evil nature that we inherited from Adam.  The only cure for that is The Gospel which shows us our wicked ways and gives us a path forward by turning and confessing Christ as Lord and following Him.
