Our Psalms today point out that those who trust God will face trials in life, but they will be rewarded in the end, meanwhile the wicked are in for a rude awakening:
Psa 11:5 The LORD tests the righteous and the wicked, And the one who loves violence His soul hates.
Psa 11:6 Upon the wicked He will rain snares; Fire and brimstone and burning wind will be the portion of their cup.
Whoa! So picture what happened in Sodom and Gomorrah, the heavens opened up and it rained fire upon them, and incidentally Revelation shows us that there is still fire from the sky to come, or that has yet to, but is going to happen.
So while the wicked are gonna get their comeuppance, let’s see what is in store for the righteous:
Psa 11:7 For the LORD is righteous, He loves righteousness; The upright will behold His face.
The righteous will see His face, or be able to stand before God rather than being swatted down like the wicked. We are left with two choices: live in sin and be disobedient and wicked, or trust in Jesus, follow Him, obey Him and be righteous.
