Checking in with our Psalms as we close out Chapter 5, a short Chapter but full of wonderful truth!
Psalms is again talking about the proud and arrogant minds of the wicked, who hurt others as if they are untouchable:
Psa 12:4 They say, “We will lie to our hearts’ content. Our lips are our own—who can stop us?”
So that’s what the wicked woefully think, “I can just say whatever I want, and then what?”
God is What’s What!!! here’s His reply:
Psa 12:5 The LORD replies, “I have seen violence done to the helpless, and I have heard the groans of the poor. Now I will rise up to rescue them, as they have longed for me to do.”
Some rich text there! God hears the prayers of His children, and God will deliver them. While the wicked oppress others arrogantly, God will come to humble the proud, and there is nothing scarier in this universe than being on the wrong end of God’s wrath. So our takeaways today are that God hears the prayers of the poor, and God’s wrath is going to be on those who oppress the poor.
