Opening up Chapter 14 of the Psalms and God’s Word points out and trait of the fool:
Psa 14:1 For the choir director: A psalm of David. Only fools say in their hearts, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and their actions are evil; not one of them does good!
Whoa! So that is what goes through the mind of a fool, the fool doesn’t believe in God and unfortunately that is a lot of the world right now. Surveys have shown that Millenials and Zoomers (Generation Z) have an all time low view of God, the overwhelming majority of the demographics fall into the category of Atheists.
Sadly, a large component of this mindset is that a lot of folks just don’t want to have to confront their sin. They enjoy sinning so much, that they don’t want to have to stop, they don’t even want to hear about why what they are doing is bad and brings dishonor to our creator.
All kinds of academics and theorists have emerged in the Post Modern world to explain away sinful behavior all the while turning their back on God, which is not a good place to be!
The beauty of the Gospel is that it reveals our sin to us, our fallen nature and our intrinsic desire to get into trouble. It is a hopeless state, but the Good News is Christ takes away that sin, and gives us an entire new outlook on life when we declare Him as King, learn about Him, and most importantly follow Him!
