Today’s Psalms remind us the importance of keeping company with other God fearing people, having those types as influences in our lives:

Psa 16:3  As for the saints who are on the earth, “They are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.”

Saints is meant to be Holy, and the saints on the earth are referring to believers of the church, from people that go to church and follow God’s Word to those who preach it.  

The verse continues, these followers of Christ are the excellent one’s in whom is all my delight.  

The Psalmist delights in the believers or he loves them because they are excellent.  They have good conduct, which should remind us that the people we strive to spend time with and fellowship with ought to be God fearing people, or saints of the earth.  

And we should carefully examine the types of people who we hang out with or who we look up to, or as the Word says; who we delight in…and it might not just be the types of people we actually spend time with, in the age of the internet, you can hang out and interact or follow people that you’ve never even met.  Are the influencers that we watch on Netflix or follow on instagram Godfearing people, or do they constantly take half naked selfies after doing shots of Hennesy?  If it’s the half naked type, chances are they are not saints of the earth, and people we should avoid fellowshipping with or delighting in, instead look for Godfearing influences to have in our lives.
