A nice Psalm that we can arm ourselves with and lean upon when we are in dangerous territory:
Psa 17:9 Protect me from wicked people who attack me, from murderous enemies who surround me.
David likely wrote this Psalm when David was being hunted by his enemies, which happened multiple times in his life, Saul was chasing after him and then later David’s own son Absalom was trying to murder David.
Chances are at one point in our lives we have been in a similar situation where we are attacked by wicked people, whether it is simply online, or in real life, wandering through the hood, or some crazy surly drunk wanders into our purview.
But when it seems like the deck is stacked against us, and the odds are in the enemies, it also draws us closer to God. When we are living largely unthreatened lives, we tend not to think about these things, but these circumstances that we can sometimes find ourselves in with nasty people remind us how dependent we actually are on God for His protection!
