Good word in our Psalms today that shows that in hopeless times, God is there for us:
Psa 18:28 For You will light my lamp; The LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.
The Psalmist there finds himself in the rough seas of life, the language mentioned is darkness, as that is when danger seems to lurk. But the verse says that God lightens the way, the dark isn’t so scary when the lights are turned on.
The next verse points out that by God, one man can beat an army:
Psa 18:29 For by You I can run against a troop, By my God I can leap over a wall.
Militaristically, a troop is an army of soldiers, who could overwhelm just one person, but with God, escape is possible! Today’s Word tells us God lights up our path guiding us to safety, and through God we can beat what seem like insurmountable odds!
God is our great refuge, when it feels like the walls are closing in, God will guide us through!
