God is Glorified Through His Creation

Kicking off a brand new chapter of the Psalms, 19, David tells us that God’s creation is one of the ways that God’s glory is revealed to us:

Psa 19:1  For the choir director. A Psalm of David. The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.

Going off of Genesis 1, the first book of the Bible, it took God just seven days to create the universe, and as today’s verse says “The expanse of the heavens is declaring the work of God’s hands”

The universe’s expanse has no end, that’s something we still can’t wrap our minds around, that space doesn’t end.  It’s not as if we Elon Musk finally figures out a way past Pluto, he is just going to hit this gigantic wall…there will just be another set of planets and solar systems and stars to navigate, and if we ever get past those, there will just be more, it is infinite!  That’s how great God’s glory is.  God created a universe that doesn’t end.

Speaking of Elon Musk, society revers him as this folk hero because he is one of the wealthiest people alive, and has made these major inroads with technology, he is one of the most quoted people on the internet right now, he is famous because of his space expeditions or his exploration of creation.

But what about the Creator of creation, God?  He did all this in one day, the fourth day according to Genesis 1, so here we are worshipping these men who are only figuring out a way from point A to point B, but instead of praising these men, should we not be praising God, who created all of it?  Something to think on next time we are reading a story glorifying man, when man comes and goes in this world, but God, the Creator of it all, reigns forever!
