Some cautionary words in our Proverbs today against gossip, which is something we should take to heart because we have so many means of communications, especially in the digital landscape where we can spout anything off one Facebook with no real consequences since we are behind the safety of a computer screen saying bad things to or about someone who isn’t in front of our faces
Pro 16:28Â Â A troublemaker plants seeds of strife; gossip separates the best of friends.
Two negatives are associated in today’s verse with troublemakers and gossipers, and if we think about it, some of the closest family ties have been severed because of one sibling saying something slanderous about another, a sad state of affairs..so how do we avoid splitting up these close relationships? Don’t gossip! Good words to remember as we go about our day and may find ourselves sitting with friends or acquaintances and idle talk finds its way into smack talking. Don’t Gossip!
