Proverbs today uses some colorful poetry in telling us to stay in close touch with God and God’s law:
Pro 7:2 Keep my commandments and live, And my teaching as the apple of your eye.
Pro 7:3 Bind them on your fingers; Write them on the tablet of your heart.
Some of the most important parts of our bodies are our eyes, our fingers and our h eart – we are never not using these members, so should it be with God’s law, the way we are acquainted with these elements of our body; so it should be with how close we are with God.
We don’t just use our fingers, heart, or eyes for an hour on Sunday’s…we are in constant communication with these part of our being, so we should always be in that same constant communication with God, putting Him and His commands at the forefront of our lives – we do this by reading the Bible daily and also listening to what Paul the Apostle says when he tells us to pray without ceasing, or never stop praying, that means not just praying for an hour on Sunday’s or before meals or before bedtime, but making prayer and communion with God, through HIs Word, a regular part of our lives.
