Proverbs 13:3 – Sometimes the best reply is no reply!

A very practical Proverb to start the week off that we can get apply in many different ways in our own personal walks:

Pro 13:3  The one who guards his mouth preserves his life; The one who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.

It is never not amazing how these Proverbs were written nearly 3000 years ago and never more true today, especially with social media.

How often have we seen someone getting cancelled because of something they said on Facebook or twitter.  This happens constantly with celebrities where they become famous, and then an old tweet is unearthed from ten years ago that puts them in a bad light and they end up losing some major sponsorship and have to fall on the sword in an apology.  All of which could have been avoided if they just didn’t say anything at all, which points us back to the Proverbs, guarding one’s mouth perseveres life, but ruin comes to the one who opens their yap!  Many times the best answer is no answer!
