Some important warnings against the adulterous, or the one who wants to lure us into some kind of scandalous affair today:
Pro 7:21 With her many persuasions she entices him; With her flattering lips she seduces him.
Like the fly that wanders into the spiders web trying to scratch that itch, or feed that hunger, goes the unknowing fool to lie down with the adulterer or wants have a salacious affair.
The next series of verses show the endgame of such behavior:
Pro 7:22 Suddenly he follows her As an ox goes to the slaughter, Or as one in fetters to the discipline of a fool,
Pro 7:23 Until an arrow pierces through his liver; As a bird hastens to the snare, So he does not know that it will cost him his life.
Just like the spider and the fly, so it is with the adulterous and the wandering idiot trying to get his rock off, now he is dead.
The moral of our Proverb, guard our minds, our eyes and our actions from someone who tries to seduce us, given how sexuality is so pervasive in so much media whether it is advertising or academia, these are good words to remember, watch out and don’t listen to their flattering words or seductions, because death is at the end of that road!
