A Proverb that reminds us to keep our pride in check:

Pro 29:23  Pride ends in humiliation, while humility brings honor. 

Someone who is had a big ego and is arrogant will be humbled by God, meanwhile the person who is lowly finds righteousness. 

Ppart of our prideful nature is pointing out the other folks who have the big egos without looking inward at our own big egos.  

It like the parable of the tax collector who knew his sin and self righteous pharisee who said, thank you God for making me so righteous and not like the sinful tax collector. 

Jesus said that the one who knows his sin is the one who justified.
